Mary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology and Certificate in Public History from Simon Fraser University 2001, and was awarded Gold in 2007 for best individual interpretive program in Canada.  With nearly a decade of interpretive experience, Mary has returned Williams Lake to share her skills with her hometown.

“Why choose a Dandelion as your logo?” Mary has many reasons.  “Every part of a Dandelion is useful, many local species have come to depend on it from bees to bears.  My favourite part of a Dandelion is the seed head, if left alone they get the job done, but when combined with people who blow their fluffy caps with hope on their mind, the potential of those seeds are increased substantially.” This is the vision I have for Dandelion Interpretation.  Soon it will be the breath of the community at large in a wish for Williams Lake that will spread our stories around the world.”

Today Mary is happily telling stories and sharing secrets in Town Walks and Hikes, helping local businesses and schools to be Waste & Water Wise and singing about Salmon at Scout Island Nature Centre.  Click on Dandelion’s printable community calendar  to “Find Mary” on any given day.
